Learning should be a fun experience. I want to build community in my classroom by working hard and playing hard, while striving to build relationships with my students. At the end of the day I want to send them off with a smile and hug.
My husband and I have 6 children. We have two grandchildren , one grandturtle and one granddog.

Bachelors in K-12 Vocal Music Education from Central College Pella, Iowa
Masters In Education Leadership from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa
I began my teaching career at Pella Christian Grade School teaching K-5 General Music, 6-8 Choir, beginning band lessons, worship team leader, and private lesson instructor. In 2008 I began my service with Des Moines Public School at Harding Middle School as the 6-8 Vocal Music and Show Choir Instructor. In 2010 I accepted an administrative position within Harding Middle School as a School Improvement Leader. I am thrilled to continue serving the students, families and north side community as the Principal of Cattell.
My passion lies with supporting students, families, and staff in their efforts to grow in knowledge and skills. I will strive to help each individual find success within Cattell Elementary.
