Scott Nichols, Principal

CATTELL ELEMENTARY
Scott Nichols is the principal of Cattell Elementary School. Previously, he served for 11 years as the principal at Windsor Elementary School. He also worked as the dean of students at River Woods Elementary School. Before arriving at DMPS, Nichols was employed for 15 years as an elementary and middle school classroom teacher with the Humboldt-St. Mary’s and Knoxville (IA) school districts, where he was also a part of several district-wide efforts in areas ranging from the Iowa Core Curriculum to student behavior. Nichols received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Iowa State University, and a master’s degree in effective teaching, learning, and leadership – curriculum, and specialist in educational leadership diploma both from Drake University.
