Thank You to Aviva for Support of Cattell

Cattell Elementary School poses for a thank you photo for Aviva’s donation.

Aviva donated more than 600 coats and boots to Cattell and McKinley elementary school children. The gift was made possible through the Aviva USA Charitable Foundation. Students at both schools had the chance to try on coats and boots a few weeks ago to make sure they’d receive the right sizes. More than 125 Aviva employees volunteered for the try-on and distribution days.

“This wonderful gift of coats and boots will keep our students warm in the winter, as well as ease the financial burden put on their families by a tough economy,” said Mindy Jones, Cattell’s principal. “We are excited to be receiving these new items and are so very grateful to Aviva for this most generous gift.”

This year marks the 19th winter that Aviva and its predecessor companies have ensured that students – from Head Start through 5th grade – at a Des Moines-area school receive a new, properly fitting coat and pair of boots. Local partners JCPenney and Shoe Carnival provided the coats and boots to Aviva at a discount.
